Smoked Sweet Heat Deviled Eggs
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp honey
- ½ tsp sweet heat rub (such as Fire for Effect)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Smoked paprika, for garnish
- Fresh chives, finely chopped, for garnish
Directions
- Hard-boil the eggs: place them in a pot of cold water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath to cool.
- Once cooled, peel the eggs and halve them lengthwise.
- Remove the yolks and set them in a mixing bowl.
- Make the filling: mash the yolks with a fork until finely crumbled. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, honey, and sweet heat rub. Mix until smooth, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture and top with fresh chives and smoked paprika.
- Smoke the deviled eggs with your choice of Pig & Nut Premium Wood Chips using a smoke chamber. Experiment with the varieties to find your favorite—our original Pignut Hickory is an excellent choice.
- Enjoy! Best paired with a smoked cocktail and good company.
